Host family are not at home when a new student arrives:
• Call the host family on their home phone and mobile number, if they say that they are delayed and will be there in 10 minutes then ask the driver to wait with the student until they return.
• If the family will be longer, then ask the driver to bring them to the school to wait. Call the residence phone to inform them of the students arrival and ensure that the student is looked after , arrange and inform the student and the taxi company of the new time for the std to be picked up and taken to the family.
• If there is no answer, you will have to arrange a new HF from the available list, also leave a message on the host family phone to inform them that they are no longer receiving that student.
• If impossible to find a new family, check for space at the residence. Inform the residence office and the host family office of the change on the Monday and reassure the student and explain to them that they will change to a new host family and that the other family had an unexpected emergency this is why the sudden change.
• Contact the sales office to let them know details of new address.
